Da Vinci Hysterectomy

Surgical Services > Da Vinci Surgery > Da Vinci Hysterectomy

The one constant in a woman's life is change. From the beginning of puberty through menopause, women experience many physical, biochemical and emotional changes. Some of these changes require medical intervention. Some can result in pain, stress, even embarrassment. At Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, we offer innovative treatment options to help you deal with the changes that occur later in life, to help you feel like yourself again.

A Less-invasive Hysterectomy
Traditional gynecologic surgery, using a large incision for access to the uterus and surrounding anatomy, has been the standard approach to many gynecologic procedures. Unfortunately, this surgery can be accompanied by pain and several weeks of recovery.

There is another solution. Salt Lake Regional Medical Center is the first and only hospital in Utah to offer robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System for complex hysterectomies. Through tiny incisions, surgeons can operate with great precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a faster recovery.
