How long are visits to Salt Lake Regional Physical Therapy?
Duration depends upon your diagnosis and the extent of your therapy, but generally you can plan on 90 minutes during your initial evaluation, followed by 60-minute visits thereafter.
What should I wear to my evaluation?
You should wear something comfortable that allows you to move as well as provides the treating therapist access to the area being treated.
Do I need a prescription?
You have direct access to physical therapist evaluation and treatments without a referral or prescription. However, your insurance company may require a prescription from a referring physician. If you have any questions regarding the need for a prescription or treatment, you can contact your insurance company directly or we can call your insurance company when you schedule your appointment. Currently, all Medicare patients are required to have a physician referral for treatment.
What will physical therapy cost?
Cost of treatment depends upon your insurance plan. If you have a co-pay, it will be collected at the time of service and the remainder is billed to your insurance company. If you are uninsured or prefer a cash-pay option, we can work within your budget parameters.
What if I’m seeing a chiropractor or other health care professional?
Physical therapy can be provided concurrently with other therapy services. We work and consult with all parties involved in your health care as it relates to your physical therapy treatments.
How many visits will I need for physical therapy?
The number of physical therapy visits depends upon your diagnosis. A typical care plan may take between six and eight treatment sessions, while more complex orthopedic rehabilitation care plans can take many more sessions. After your initial evaluation, your therapist will discuss your prognosis and will determine the expected quantity, frequency and duration of your treatments.
