Three Salt Lake Valley IASIS Hospitals Partner to Offer Heart Patients Enhanced Cardiac Care
July 27, 2011

Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, Jordan Valley Medical Center and Pioneer Valley Hospital
expand cardiovascular care, add cardiologists and subspecialties

Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, Jordan Valley Medical Center and Pioneer Valley Hospital have significantly enhanced cardiovascular services and access to heart specialists throughout the Salt Lake Valley. As a result of this regional cooperative effort, these hospitals have expanded their cardiovascular teams by adding nine new board-certified cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons to care for patients throughout the Valley.

The following physicians are members of the medical staff at these hospitals, which are part of IASIS Healthcare:

  • William M. (Mark) Brann, M.D., FACC
  • Amanda Donohue, D.O.
  • Adam M. Elhaddi, M.D.
  • Bruce R. Kenwood, D.O., FACC
  • Bard R. Madsen, M.D., FACC
  • David S. Massinople, M.D., FACC
  • James J. Milavetz, M.D., FACC
  • James C. Stringham, M.D., FACS
  • Konstantyn (Jack) Y. Szwajkun, M.D., FACC

“What’s innovative about this approach to heart care is these specialists can now be referred between these three hospitals, ensuring that each patient gets the unique care that he or she requires from the most specialized physician,” said Kent Loosle, IASIS Healthcare’s chief operating officer in Utah.

This approach enables each hospital to provide its patients with a full spectrum of cardiac care services and specialists – from prevention to diagnosis to treatment – in a highly collaborative environment. It also allows the cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, who are highly specialized experts, to have greater reach throughout the Salt Lake Valley to serve the needs of the community.

“This experienced team of physicians has an impressive record of achieving outstanding cardiac surgical outcomes,” said Jack Szwajkun, M.D., FACC. “We are excited for the opportunity to expand our footprint, be a part of the medical staffs at all three hospitals and serve heart patients throughout the Salt Lake area.”
