Helen’s Orchard at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center
On October 11th neighbors, Tree Utah volunteers, and Salt Lake Regional Medical Center joined together to plant trees for Tree Utah’s Community Orchard program. Volunteers planted a full orchard of trees East of medical center grounds, naming it “Helen’s Neighborhood Orchard”.
Salt Lake Regional Medical Center is part of a historic neighborhood in Salt Lake City. The orchard is located just across the street (to the East of the hospital) at 100 South and 1100 East. It is part of the Tree Utah Heritage Orchard program, which includes several tree species and varieties from our Utah pioneer heritage. The trees in this orchard also help our community by providing an ‘edible food forest’ that not only produces healthy organic food, but it also helps conserve water, build soils, and create new habitat for birds and other wildlife.
Thank you to our volunteers, who helped us that day.

We are proud to be a part of this historic Salt Lake District, and excited to help contribute to the Community Orchard Program. If you would like to learn how you can volunteer or help with this program, contact Vaughn at 801.364.2122 or by email at vaughn@treeutah.org.
